WHAT TO EXPECT

SESSIONS

At Fundamental Soccer Academy, our one-hour training sessions are designed to build technically sound, confident, and creative players through a structured and progressive approach. We’re confident that we can help your athlete (age 8-14) grow in skill and confidence!

Each session begins with 10–20 minutes of focused fundamental skill work, including two-touch and one-touch wall passes to sharpen ball control and coordination. We then transition into fundamental movement drills that emphasize lateral, frontal, and backward mobility with the ball. Athletes perform exercises such as lateral rollovers, in-out dribbling, toe taps, tic-tocks, and L pullbacks. These movements are executed on cement surfaces to add an extra layer of stimulus—enhancing force absorption, tendon and ligament strength, and introducing early-stage plyometric training.

The second half of the session takes place on the field, where training becomes individualized and game-specific. Here, we focus on dribbling mechanics, change of direction, shooting off the dribble, weak foot development, creativity with the ball, and 1v1 skill execution. The emphasis is on building real-game confidence and tactical decision-making. Don’t forget to bring water!

Our program follows a three-phase developmental model over 6–8 week periods:

Phase 1: Ball Mastery – Developing comfort, control, and confidence with the ball at your feet through foundational touch and receiving drills.

Phase 2: Dribbling & Shooting – Emphasizing controlled change of direction, pace variation, purposeful dribbling, and shooting under pressure.

Phase 3: Application & Creativity – Applying technical skills in 1v1 scenarios, fostering creativity, decision-making, and composure in real-game situations. Each athlete progresses through the phases based on performance and development, ensuring personalized growth and skill advancement at every level.

Individual Sessions

Individual attention means faster progression, it’s just that simple! With our solo sessions, we’re able to cater more specifically to your child’s needs: we can pivot based on their rate of improvement or areas of interest. If you’re looking to fast-track your child’s improvement with 1-on-1 coaching, this is absolutely the way to go.

Group Sessions

Our group sessions are a great supplemental way to get your child involved in a tight knit soccer community! Our classes are no larger than 4 students at a time, we want to ensure that all athletes get the attention that they deserve. Students will learn, improve, and make new friends while they’re at it!
