HEAD COACH

DAWASI Von Barnau Sythoff

For the past three years, I’ve had the incredible privilege of coaching soccer and helping young athletes, ages 8-14, grow both on and off the field. What fuels me every day is the chance to pour into my players—not just teaching them how to play the game, but how to believe in themselves. Whether it’s setting goals, building confidence through skill development, or celebrating the “aha” moments when something finally clicks, I love every part of the journey.

My passion for coaching is deeply personal. Early in my own soccer journey, I struggled with striking the ball. I felt behind, frustrated, and unsure of my potential—until one coach changed everything. He took the time to work with me one-on-one after every practice, focusing solely on shooting. It didn’t happen overnight, but eventually, I became the top striker on my team—and went on to lead several teams in goals scored. That experience showed me how powerful it is when someone believes in you.

As a private coach, my mission is to be that person for others. I want to create opportunities for young athletes to unlock their potential, overcome obstacles, and experience the joy that comes from hard work paying off. Coaching isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.

In addition to my years of coaching experience, I bring the following to the table:

  • Played 4 years at Washington Premier, 2 time state cup winning team.

  • 4 years of personal training experience (focused on college and recreational athletes)

  • Current coach at Harbor Premier

  • Coached a season at Sparta

  • Played a year of college ball at Tacoma Community College
